We’ve all been there. You finally find a great-looking apartment, only to hear those three words: “Sorry, already rented.” Or worse — it turns out the listing never even existed.

At Rentumo, we’ve made it our mission to help renters avoid those frustrating dead ends. Behind every property listing on our site is a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) team working daily to make sure what you see is real, relevant, and up to date.

So, how exactly do we do that?

A Human Eye Behind Every Listing

Before a listing appears on Rentumo, it passes through our thorough QA process — a mix of automation and human review designed to catch everything from quiet “already rented” notices to obvious fakes.

As our QA lead puts it:

“If a house quietly says ‘already rented’ in the fine print, we’ll catch it.
If an apartment looks more like a garage than a home, we’ll say ‘no thanks.’
We’re like that trusted consultant who always picks the best option for you — only more professionally, across 15+ countries, accounting for dozens of local quirks.”

"To prevent cases like this, we combine our automated crawling and availability detection with extensive manual quality assurance. Last month our QA team logged over 1,600 hours manually checking the listing details across our 15 websites."

That mix of local knowledge, trained skepticism, and daily monitoring is what helps us filter out the noise — so you can focus on listings that are worth your time.

A System That Never Sleeps

Our platform scans thousands of websites several times a day. Listings are continuously updated — some even multiple times within 24 hours.

If a source website changes or hides key details, we spot it. If a listing suddenly loses its price, address, or photos, our system flags it instantly. From there, our QA team steps in, reviews the issue, and removes anything that doesn’t meet our standards.

We are currently working on improving our automated (AI) detection methods to reduce the number of listings that slip through the cracks even faster. If a source website often includes unreliable data, we remove it from our index.

You Can Help Too

Even with our systems and team in place, no platform can catch everything 100% of the time. But we consistently achieve over 99% accuracy across all listings.

And when something does get past us, our users can help close the gap. Each listing includes a report feature — allowing users to flag incorrect or outdated information. We take these reports seriously and respond swiftly to keep Rentumo accurate and trustworthy.

It’s Not Just Tech — It’s Personal

Most of us at Rentumo are renters ourselves. We know what it’s like to spend weeks searching, calling, and refreshing websites — only to run into listings that aren’t real or are long gone.

That’s why we care so much about this work. We're not just trying to keep data clean. We're trying to make the rental search a little fairer, a little clearer, and a lot less stressful.

You Deserve Reliable Data

Every renter deserves honest information. No fake listings. No missing prices. No hidden traps.

That’s why we combine automation with real human checks, monitor websites across Europe, and listen to every user report — all to keep Rentumo as reliable as possible.
